Ross Davenport and the GB 4 x 200m Freestyle relay team take fourth place with a new British Record in the Olympic Final.
Simon Burnett gave Britain the ideal start, finishing his leg in third place behind Phelps (USA) and Hackett (Australia).
Gavin Meadows and David O'Brien swam the second and third legs before Ross brought them home in 7:12.60, a new British record.
Speaking to the BBC tonight Ross said, "We won fourth tonight, we didn't lose third, No-one expected us to reach the final and we have done the best we can. I am proud to be here."
But for a phenomenal, inspired swim by Italy's Massimiliano Rosolin the British quartet might have incredibly pulled off a bronze medal placing.
