Here's your step-by-step guide to signing up for email alerts:

1. Visit the blog site at www.codsc.wordpress.com and, o­n the first page you see, there is an option down the right-hand side to ‘Subscribe to this blog’ (you may have to scroll down to see this and also see the most recent posts).

2. Click o­n ‘Subscribe to City of Derby blog by email’. This takes you to a free email subscription service run by FeedBurner.

3. Type in your email address in the top box and you will also be asked to type in the code word you can see in a second box to help prevent spam.

4. Then click o­n ‘Complete Subscription Request’. A verification message will then be sent to your inbox from FeedBurner Email Subscriptions.

5. You will need to click a link listed in this message to activate your subscription. Click o­n the link in this email and that’s job done.

You will now receive an email to your inbox every time there is new content o­n the City of Derby blog site.
