Double Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington will lead the line-up of stars at the City of Derby Swimming Club fund-raiser. HEAD coach Melanie Marshall has paid tribute to the team at City of Derby SC after the club’s sponsored swim for the Zambia Project was a huge success.  | Leagues: 2009 Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Junior Swimming League, final – 21st June
The young swimmers of City of Derby Swimming Club travelled to Mansfield at the weekend to compete in the final of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Junior Swimming League. Facing the strongest teams in the league, the swimmers built on their performances of earlier rounds of the competition and put on a spirited defence of their title as league champions. In the end however they were overwhelmed by a powerful Nottingham Leander squad which dominated the gala. The swimmers had the consolation however of a good second place finish, ahead of rivals Chesterfield, who beat them in the second round, and comfortably ahead of Long Eaton. Read more... City of Derby has been in discussion with its pool providers and are happy that good practise occurs and the pool water is checked to ensure the levels of chlorine are within the normal safety limits.
However, anybody that has concers or further questions should contact their coach or any member of the committee.
